Our History |
Our large space was built in 1990 by the City of Philadelphia for recreational use. Operations were managed by the Tolentine corporation for many years under a unique contractual arrangement. Public access was limited.
Joseph F. Marino, founding co-chair of the East Passyunk Crossing Civic Association, led the charge to the City to acquire back the building for community use. The Department of Parks and Recreation assumed control of the building in August 2015 and renamed the Center to reflect the East Passyunk name, with a relaunch designed to create a truly accessible and inviting community center. |
